Rise of the Brave: A Night of Hope, A Night of Healing

Our hearts ache for the fallen as indescribable violence continues throughout Syria. Ruled by the Ba’ath Party for over five decades, the people of Syria have lived through extreme times of hardship and cruelty. Bashar Al-Assad,  who is now the head of the Ba’ath Party, has continued the bloodshed, leaving Syrians helpless against this ruthless regime.

Peaceful protests have been met with brutality.  Syria has become a land of death where children, women and families are brutally beaten, murdered, and raped.  The Syrian regime has isolated the country--cutting off access to life medications for hundreds of thousands of people, leaving many of them injured to die. As videos of these undoubtedly heinous crimes against humanity surface and consume the screens, the world has become a witness to the tragedies and a possible source of relief and aid. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Whoever amongst you sees any injustice, let him change it with his hand, if he is not able, then with his tongue, and if he is not even able to do so, then with his heart, and the latter is the weakest form of faith.” [Muslim]

Muslims Without Borders (MWB)  is one of the few American relief agencies covertly operating inside Syria. It is the first student-based relief agency and aid organization dedicated to helping alleviate suffering throughout the world. Our teams have broken through regime lines to get lifesaving medications inside clinics, carrying it on our backs through the mountains. MWB needs your support to continue this lifesaving effort.

Join Muslims Without Borders as we raise funds to aid Syrian victims in surviving an inescapable massacre. We would like to invite you to our fundraising Iftar Rise for the Brave: A Night of Hope, A Night of Healing, to be held on July 27th at the University of Maryland, College Park, insha’Allah. Bring your families to a delicious iftar catered by Jabal Lebanon as we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Syria.

1 country. Over 50,000 victims. 1 hope.
