New Masjid Planned for Prince George's County

The members of the Ali Khan Islamic Center, a new Islamic Center located at 4831 Silver Hill Road in Suitland, MD 20746, are setting the cornerstone of a new masjid. Jumu'ah salah is regularly held at 1:30 p.m. every Friday at the current location, as well as brothers' and sisters' halaqahs. The center also holds weekly Arabic and karate classes. "We have a small ummah with big plans of building an Islamic Center from the ground up in Prince Georges County and need the help of all, muslims and non muslims willing to contribute building a house for the worship of Allah and to be of great benefit to the community that surrounds it, InshaAllah," says Eric Bridges, an active member.

The center will also be hosting their Annual Fundraising Banquet on Saturday April 6, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Martin’s Camelot located at 13905 Central Avenue Upper Marlboro, MD. Donations are $80.
