On January 21, 2013, Montgomery County Muslim Foundation Board members and general members together with about 2,000 other volunteers participated in the annual Montgomery County Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service event held at the North Bethesda Marriott Conference Center.

Coordinated by Board member Zeshaan Rasheed, MCMF sponsored two project tables that benefited The Tiny Treasures Program at The Children’s Inn at National Institute of Health. As in years past, the activity tables were a huge success and volunteers made more than 250 colorful rubber band balls for young patients at The Children’s Inn at NIH. “Our mission is to provide service to Muslims and non-Muslims in Montgomery County,” said Rasheed, of Montgomery Village, in an interview with the Gazette.
