Muslims in outlying areas of Maryland like Washington, Frederick, and Montgomery Counties now have the opportunity to send their children to memorize the entire Qur'an at a new hifz school started at the Islamic Society of Frederick.

Started this past March, the school currently enrolls 6 male and female students. The teacher, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Azhary, learned the sciences of the Qur'an and Sharia at Al-Azhar University in Egypt.
"My boys are more motivated now to memorize than they were before," said Sohrab Shahab who lives in Hagerstown. "[Sheikh Ahmed] is very good at managing time in the class."

The school operates from 8am to 12pm Monday through Friday. For more information see page 35 in this issue of the Muslim Link.
