ICM Receives $75K FEMA Grant

Assalamu'alykum. Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to inform you that based on a proposal submitted by the Islamic Center of Maryland (ICM), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has selected ICM to receive a $75,000 award under the FY2015 Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) for upgrading/improving site lighting. Insha Allah, this award will help us continue implementing our Master Plan by providing a much needed parking and perimeter lighting particularly on and around the newly built parking lot areas. This will directly result in improved onsite security and safety for all our members, visitors, and guests. Please note that ICM received a similar grant in 2010 to improve its physical security, which enabled us to install a commercial grade security fence around the eastern, and parts of the northern and southern boundary lines.  [Source: ICM Administration Email, August 10, 2015]
