KARAMAH, the organization of Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights, will host a lecture on current challenges and responses to issues affecting the religious liberty of Muslim women in America. Eric Treene, Special Counsel for Religious Discrimination for the Department of Justice, will discuss the growing civil rights debate regarding the religious freedoms of Muslim women in America. The talk occurs in the wake of a series of highly publicized cases in which Muslim women are increasingly struggling to adhere to their religious beliefs in the workplace and other public spaces. |
