Sometimes finding a halal place to eat means a limit on selection and frequently not a very healthy option… so why not try vegetarian which is always halal?
That’s what TML did this issue; we went to Baltimore’s Liquid Earth Raw – Vegan – Vegetarian Restaurant & Juice Bar, which serves vegetarian, vegan and raw menu choices. Liquid Earth has been serving local organic product, intelligent nutrition, enzyme rich, whole foods, which are great-tasting and great for you… for 15 years now.

Casa Della Pizza is a good sized restaurant in a convenient shopping center, with plenty of parking. The restaurant is quaintly decorated in warm colors, well organized, clean and the staff welcoming. Don’t be fooled by the name, Casa Della Pizza has much more than pizza on the menu! Although Casa Della Pizza does offer a great selection of halal pizza toppings not typically available to build your own pizza if you don’t want a specialty which they have already put together, you can select from ham, sausage, beef, pepperoni, and chicken in addition to the variety of vegetables. Everything is handmade at Casa Della Pizza, including the dough which is baked to perfection on in a conveyor oven. We had the Buffalo Chicken pizza which is topped with shredded cheese baked to crispy delight on the fluffy crust which never got soggy.

The Lil Italian Café sits within a shopping center right next to several other eateries, and yet the Lil Italian Café was almost full speaking to the reputation it has for making it worthy of the diner’s choice. Inside the Lil Italian Café the setting is clean and simple, tables have vinyl coverings, and there are booths along the walls if you prefer not to sit at a table. The venue is good for large parties, families, and even had tables for just two. Once seated we were immediately greeted and our drink order was taken, which was quickly followed when our server who returned to take our order. Service was swift and courteous.

Gourmet Shish Kebab has a modest exterior but once inside you will find that there is ample seating for easy availability most any time of the day and adequate for smaller sized gatherings if you wanted to plan an event inside. There is plenty of parking in their onsite parking lot which is readily accessible immediately off of 198/Fort Meade Road between 295 and Route 1. The interior of Gourmet Shish Kebab is decorated in Mediterranean touches of various artifacts, curtains, rugs, and pictures, to include what appears to be the interior of a formal tent, draped in curtains for a feel of being someplace far from Laurel.
