AssalamuAlaikum,

For the last few days the officers at the CMU Terre Haute (CMU - Terrorism Unit) have gone out of control.

Many of the officers here have served in the U.S Military and have recently come out straight in showing their hatred against Muslims. They go to each cell about twice a day and shake it down completely. They rip the cells apart completely. If they don't like the ways the cells look they lock the cells and people are unable to use the toilets. On one occasion I know an Inmate who could not wait anymore and almost went to the bathroom on himself. On another occasion officers came to one of the inmates and told him that the Muslim inmate looks like a Somali pirate and if he tried to run the officer would shoot him. Another officer [admitted] that he goes to sleep every night thinking how he will make the inmates' lives miserable the next morning. I am unable to mention the names of the officers fearing the safety of the inmates in the CMU. Things have even turned worse since the Time Square, NY incident. In any case, the things are not moving the right direction so please pray for the Muslims in the CMU unit.

  This has reminded me about an ayah in suratul burooj. "Wama naqamu minhum illah ainy yu'minu billahil 'azizil hameed."   Not only do you not have any facts (just allegations and innuendo), you think Muslims are the only inmates there. Also, no officers are armed within the unit, so it defies known operational process to suggest that an officer threatened to shoot an inmate. He has no weapon. Chandia is a terrorist - that's why he's in prison. So, claim Islamaphobia all you want. You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.

  Islam is a religion of peace and a good Muslim should certainly be a peaceful person. A Muslim should be attracted towards peace and strive to attain peace. To attain and maintain peace one has to be patient at times. Only one God(Allah) has the authority to judge the state of one's heart. We do injustice to others and forget to apologize. There is injustice in every country that follows most of the man made laws rather than the divine will that is clearly specified in our books (Quran, Torah, Injeel(Bible)). Quran is the final revelation. May Allah give you hidayah (guidance) to accept the truth. (Ameen)

  As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakaatu: May Allah in His infinite Mercy protect these Muslims who are struggling to maintain their deen and dignity in what must surely be one of the worst atmospheres to find themselves. They are struggling against calculated abuse that is physical, mental, and spiritual. They are struggling against ignorance and fear so deep it defies understanding. They are made to feel as though they are the worst of human beings, yet we KNOW that "Verily, We (Allah) created man in the best stature." (Al Tin: 4) So keep these noble brothers in your du'aat, asking Allah to help them, bring them out of their oppression, increase them in eman and tawakkul, and answer THEIR du'aat.
