On Dec 25th, a crowd of about 250 watched as several local martial arts schools and practitioners gathered at Dar Al Taqwa in Ellicott City for the United Muslim Martial Arts Association Tournament. The venue featured artists from diverse schools and martial systems including Al-Azhar Silat, Aqabah Karate, Riley Hawkins’ Avengers, Thompkins Karate and Bai’s Martial Arts. Competitors took home 112 medals in forms, weapons, continuous sparring, point sparring and grapping.
