Prince George's Muslim Association hosted a disaster preparedness workshop on December 8, 2012. In preparation for winter storm season, individuals and organizations need to be prepared, said organizers. The workshop was taught by two brothers who are trained in emergency assistance. The next session is on December 15, 2012. "Many times masajid have to host displaced victims, we should have a plan," said Br. Safeer Shameem of PGMA. PGMA will also host a Sisters' Day Out Ice Skating event on December 29, 2012, at the Ice Rink on 5211 Paint Branch Parkway College Park, MD 20740. Transportation will be provided. The group will depart after Dhuhr from PGMA. The first 15 sisters who RSVP will attend for free, after that the cost is $5/person. |
