Muslim Man Brutally Murdered in Gaithersburg 7-Eleven

A Muslim man of Pakistani descent, Abdul Ghaffar, was murdered with a boxcutter style knife on January 23, 2014 in Gaithersburg, MD. Thirty-six-year-old Shaun David King has been charged with the murder of a cheerful a father of seven. King cut the brother more than 70 times on his neck, chin and wrists, according to prosecutors.


According to newsreports, Montgomery County Police say King attacked Abdul Ghaffar, 63, unprovoked, in the 7-Eleven store on 9051 Snouffer School Road, early Thursday. A second worker called 911 and as officers arrived, they saw King leaving with what appeared to be blood on his hands and clothes. King tried to run away but was caught by the police.


Robbery was not a motive in this crime. Family members say that King knew Ghaffar. "He used to [be] a customer," the family member said to news channels. "He had an argument with him one time."The judge has ordered psychiatric testing for King.
