Muslim Youth of Maryland (MYMD) is a brand new organization created to fill a void. The first registered Muslim nonprofit youth organization in the state of Maryland, organizers formed MYMD in April of this year to provide a political platform for Muslim youth.
A small ad in the Columbia Flyer lured Steve Baum to the Living Well Health Fair. On April 27th 2013, approximately one hundred and fifty people and fifty volunteers attended this year's health fair to get a checkup. HIV/AIDS advocates from across the United States gathered in Washington D.C. this past February to participate in AIDS Watch 2013, the nation’s largest annual constituent-based federal advocacy event with 200 legislative meetings and 170 attendees.
Al Rahmah School in Baltimore became more and more crowded as excited competitors and guests alike gathered at the 11th annual Muslim Youth Debate Tournament on Saturday June 29, 2013.
On Saturday, May 5, 2013, after the Dhuhr prayers the class for the ancient sport of archery assembled on the grounds of the Makkah Learning Center.
On Saturday, June 8, 2013, one of Maryland's newest Islamic centers held its first fundraiser with an attendance of around 100 guests.
