Masjid Fatima is in the final steps of aquiring the property located at 1928 Powers Lane in Catonsville, Md. According to the final verdict from the court, the community has to come up with $800,000 by June 7th, 2018.
As of May 24, 2018, masjid volunteers have raised almost $300,000 towards that goal.
According to Ahmed Rana, much of the funding from past fundraisers has been spent towards legal fees to fight the court case and win a decision in their favor. "However if we do not raise the rest of the $500,000 the decision might get overturned and we may have to vacate the masjid,” says
Masjid Fatima is a 501 (C) 3 tax exempt non profit organization and is also accepting Qarz-e-Hasanah (loans). The masjid runs a Quran Academy and a Full-time Hifdh Program.
