On August 11, 2018, the 6th Annual Food Fest happened at the Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB). Drawing in thousands from the DMV area, as well as some attendees from Delaware, New Jersey, and New York, foodies gathered for an all-day event to enjoy the many halal offerings of the area.

With Hardship Comes Ease: Seifullah Chapman Released from Prison
Seifullah Chapman, one of several Washington DC area Muslim men arrested and convicted in the infamous “Paintball Jihad” case, was freed on Friday, July 20, 2018, by the federal judge who sentenced him to 85 years in prison in 2004 (later reduced to 65 years) although she admitted the sentence was “draconian” and was “sticking in [her] craw.”
ADAMS Gathers Neighbors, Interfaith Partners for Discussion on Guns
In a two hour session on Thursday, July 5,2018 at ADAMS Center, approximately 120 local residents, including Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Hindu and Christian interfaith representatives and eleven Virginia state delegates held a two hour forum entitled, “Beyond Thoughts and Prayers: An interfaith discussion on gun safety.” A handful of Muslims were also in attendance.
